Asian Handicappping is a form of football (soccer) betting where teams are given a goal handicap. The addition of each teams handicap will always equal zero.

We will start with a simple example:

Manchester United plays Stoke in an English Prenier League game.

Manchester United is given an Asian handicap of -1.5 by the Bookmakers.
Stoke is given an Asian handicap of +1.5 by the Bookmakers.

Essnetially you add the number to the final score to determine the Asian Handicap Winner. You can either add 1.5 to Stokes score or subtract 1.5 from Manchester United score - it doesn't matter.

Lets say Man United won the game 2-0. Then on Asian handicap they won the game by half a goal.

Now if Manchester United won by a single goal then Stoke would be the winner on Asian Handicap by half a goal.

When a handicap is a whole number there may be an Asian handicap draw. If Manchester United had an Asian handicap of -2 and won 2-0 then both teams drew on handicap. In such cases your bet is refunded in full.

When a handicap is zero (0) your bet is essentially a 'draw- no bet''. You are betting only on the winning team however you will get your bet refunded if the match results in a draw.

What about handicaps like 1/4 or 3/4 or 1.75?

In such cases you are actually making 2 separate bets within the single wager.

If a team has a handicap of 1/4 or 0.25 then half of your wager is on a +0.5 handicap and half is on a 0 handicap.
In this case if your team wins you win the wager outright.
If there is a draw you win half your wager (+0.5) the other half (0) is refunded because it was a draw.

What odds do i get?

Your odds will vary depending on what eh bookmaker sets and what the betting demand is. If the handicap is considered truly even then odds on each team will be 1.91 to 1.96 each depending on the sportsbook. It is sometimes possible to get alternative handicaps - for example +1, +2, +3 etc on the same team. Odds will of course vary with the handicap.
